Dan Newman, a lifelong Louisiana resident, attended Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana, and majored in Journalism. He founded Accounting Corporation of the South May 1, 1992. This company evolved into Aeromedical Collection Services, Inc. in August, 1997.

Prior to 1992, Dan was the President of Broadcasting of Progressive United Corporation headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, and served as General Manager of KVKI Radio in Shreveport, Louisiana, Progressive’s first radio station. He spearheaded several acquisition programs for Progressive, which included a luxury hotel and other broadcast properties.

Looking for a new challenge, he left Progressive to form Accounting Corporation of the South and tackle medical reimbursement problems he had identified from his close association with several area medical institutions. Through the development of various processes that successfully achieved maximum reimbursement in other medical fields, he moved into the emergency transportation field and applied these same techniques. He achieved remarkable results, and with the advent of managed care and the concentration of insurance cost reductions in the early 90’s, took on the insurance industry on behalf of his EMS transportation clients.

ACS was formed to concentrate solely on reimbursement management for emergency transportation clients. Mr. Newman’s management expertise and groundbreaking EMS transportation processes have made ACS the largest and most successful reimbursement management firm in the U.S.
